Why operate?
Colorectal surgery is often performed for mild pathologies (Ganser’s diverticulum, polyps) or in the treatment of colorectal cancer.
In the case of cancer surgery, the decision is taken during a pluridisciplinary meeting, organised in association with the RYS network.
The operation
For mild polyps (that the gastoentreologist judges too difficult to remove via endoscopy), the operation is usually performed by coelioscopy.
Post-operation period
You will leave the operation block with a bladder catheter, kept for around 24h, to track diuresis and some perfusions (intravenous hydration, antalgics…) and possibly a drain.
